Stress is a normal physical response to demands. Prolonged tension without recovery can disrupt sleep, mood, the body and functioning. Management addresses both the sources and recovery.
- Worrying, irritability, restlessness or low mood.
- Poor sleep, waking tired or difficulty concentrating.
- Write down the pressures and choose one step you can influence.
- Plan short daily recovery breaks without screens or work.
- Make an appointment if stress lasts for weeks, disrupts sleep or functioning, or you think you need substances to keep going.
- For urgent GP care outside normal opening hours, call HAP 9252. Call Ambulance 912 only for an immediately life-threatening situation.
