- Clubfoot is a condition present at birth in which the foot points inwards and downwards.
- It often looks clearly different from a flexible foot position after birth.
- Parents are not to blame. It is not caused by something you did wrong during pregnancy or while caring for your baby.
- Early treatment is important and usually offers a good chance of a functional foot.
- The most commonly used treatment is the Ponseti method, with a series of casts followed by a brace.
- Consistent brace use matters because recurrence can occur in the months and years that follow.
